Project She Still Rises

This is a virtual letter-writing space for women navigating separation, divorce, or identity shifts after heartbreak. Women are often conditioned to silently carry on even when something inside them is breaking. The intent is to create room for the parts of ourselves that went unheard and suppressed, through anonymous letter writing.

The name is an ode to women who continue to rise through life's difficult chapters.

Research suggests that when emotions remain unnamed they can stay activated in the brain’s alarm system. Putting feelings into words helps the brain reduce emotional intensity and make sense of life experiences.

And after a heartbreak, when it can feel as though the story has already been written for you, writing can become a way of slowly taking authorship back. Letters also give you something to return to later and reflect on your journey.

During my own journey of divorce, I found comfort in online spaces where women shared their stories. I also began writing letters to myself... letters that I read months later only to realise how much I had survived and grown. As a psychotherapist, I have also witnessed how powerful it is when someone’s story is truly heard.

Somewhere at the intersection of the personal and professional experience, this idea took shape. This space is my way of passing that forward for women who may want to reclaim and reauthor their own stories.

Always know that your story matters.
And perhaps, one day, it will become someone else’s survival guide.

Letters Shared

These are some letters submitted by women. They are not here to seek or offer advice, but to be seen and heard.
They are shared in the hope that someone reading them may feel a little less alone.

Some of these resources supported me when I didn't have enough words. Maybe they’ll do the same for you.
